註釋
The Soca Valley is the fastest-growing destination in Slovenia, with an international reputation that has been rising over the last 10 years. This is largely due to a growing demand Europe-wide for active outdoor tourism, but also to quality product development at the local level, backed by well-coordinated marketing and distribution. The case offers a glimpse into the inner workings of the Soca Valley Tourist Board, including its activities, resources, and budgeting. It recounts the Board's concerns regarding the long-tern sustainability of the current tourism models, as the Valley faces challenges relating to infrastructure, seasonality, capacity, and quality of services. Even before the Covid-19 pandemic, the strategies of the Tourist Board were shifting. In 2019 work began on a new tourism development and marketing strategy for the period up to 2025, based on different goals and values, affecting the entire Soca Valley.
