Il volume intende porsi come il punto più aggiornato degli approfondimenti attorno allo stile e all’opera di Giovanni Battista Viotti. Composizioni per vari organici (duetti, sonate, quartetti, composizioni vocali) sono oggetto di studio, molteplici aspetti della sua produzione vengono investigati o affrontati da prospettive nuove, questioni di tecnica esecutiva diventano argomento di indagine e non mancano informazioni inedite sulla presenza di sue composizioni in alcuni fondi musicali in Piemonte.

This volume is meant as a state-of-the-art in-depth exploration of Giovanni Battista Viotti’s works and musical language. Compositions for different combinations—duos, sonatas, quartets, vocal music—are discussed, various aspects of his opus are investigated or approached from new perspectives, and performance practice issues are dealt with. Also, information is issued here for the first time on newly found Viotti pieces in Piedmont music archives.
