Russell Stevens (1778-1842) was born at Derby, Derbyshire, England. He and his wife, Ann, had eight children, 1803-1814, born at Amersham, Buckingham, and St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. Their grandson, Frederick Hobson Stevens (1854-1930), was born at Glengall Terrace, Camberwell, Surrey, England, the son of Frederick Stevens (1814-1870) and Ann Hobson Stevens. He married Maria Emma Louisa Hall (1847-1941) in 1878 at St. John, Hackney, England. They had seven children, 1879-1894. The family was living in Lakefield Township, Saginaw County, Michigan, before the birth of their fourth child in 1885. Descendants listed lived in Michigan, New York and elsewhere.
