註釋TWO-TIME AWARD-WINNING BOOK:

To save the mythical Shadowland from the merciless rulers of the underworld, a boy considered to be the chosen one must travel to the edge of the world and risk everything.

There is nowhere to hide in Shadowland. There is nowhere to escape. The mystical land is ruled by the Great Syndicate, which is oppressing and robbing the citizens. And when their hope for freedom and happiness is all lost - a hero arrives. The one they have been waiting for.

Will he help them to free themselves from the Lords and their army of scary Shadows who kidnap anyone who's out after dark? Will he show them how to deal with the Patrolling Thieves who make the daylight miserable for everyone?

There is a problem though: the hero is just a young boy who loves fighting with his teenage sister and he doesn't know right from wrong.

The old Legend predicts his arrival but it also says that he can go either way.

When Frank and his sister Caroline accidentally get transported to mythical Attic Town, they have no idea that there will be no way back. Not realizing that they have shifted in space and time, the siblings split, while looking for directions.

Wandering the streets, Frank meets Donlore, a young Patrolling Thief, and trusts the shadowy figure despite his first instincts. Caroline finds herself on a farm outside of town. She soon sets on a journey to find her younger brother and help him realize his mistake. She has to find him before dark. When the night falls, he will remain one of the evil rulers forever and there will be no way back. In the meantime, the underground opposition of Attic Town begins to revolt.

This two-time award winning novel tells a story exploring the topics of creating one's own destiny, and the ways of dealing with personal and global Shadows.
