註釋ALS. A business letter to a pharmacist, mentioning labels and licorice. In the middle of the letter, Tilden writes of a letter he plans to send to a journal: "I do not wish (if you do not) any controversy, but feel like exposing them. I have a story of testimony against them as black as the ace of spades ... We have the legislature of our state at work at this, and have got them in quite a fix. They propose to prevent them taking children and the breaking up of families, and they are perfectly unscrupulous in regard to their stories about us."
