The Federal Office of Culture (FOC) organises the competition "The Most Beautiful Swiss Books" each year on behalfof the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA). It aims to recognise outstanding graphic design in the field of books; to promote and showcae high-quality production; and to raise public awareness of the winning works both in Switzerland and abroad, at exhibitions and accompanying events. The competition successfully fulfils and reaffirms its central mission an an ambassador. It fosters interaction between various disciplines (editors, writers, designers, printers, bookbinders) while, more broadly opening up the possibility and shouldering the responsebility of bringing a model of exemplary quality to the international stage.
