Characterization of Cement Containing Arsenic Trioxide (As2O3)
註釋Measurements of physical properties and water leaching experiments were performed on cement specimens containing variable amounts of arsenic trioxide (As203). Arsenic exhibits adverse effects on the mechanical properties of the matrix and the compressive strength value declines from 11 to 6 MPa with 7.5% of the metal addition. The appearance of arsenic(III) in the leachate under static leaching conditions indicates a low constant value of 10(-5) Moles/L, which presents only 0.04% of the total amount of arsenic initially immobilized in cement. This low amount of arsenic in the leachate is about 104 times less than the equilibrium solubility of As203 reported in aqueous solutions.
