註釋In Volume Two of the Secret in the Tangerine, the emphasis would be on Black having the initiative and winning. It is one of the earliest writings on Black gaining the upper-hand. The moves given in Volume Two are a refinement of those that have been given in Volume One. There are thirteen boards in Volume Two. As in Volume One, the emphasis would be on the Same Direction Cannons and the Opposite Direction Cannons. Other openings and counters can also be found, most notably Board 12 which demonstrated the Screen Horse Defense defeating the Central Cannon. There are also many new opening traps and gambits in Volume Two. In-depth analyses and comments can also be found to guide the reader step by step. The author has also taken many pains to link the corresponding boards and variations in Volume One so that the reader can compare the moves played for different positions. Different tactics and strategies have also been demonstrated, and these represent the basics of Xiangqi.
