His work often employs absurd methods of making and comic miscommunication. In Inflection Sandwich, which is designed to be read either from front to back or back to front, Osbaldeston literally sandwiches three distinct but related sculptural installations of an image-recognition device. Osbaldeston looks to recycle, reconfigure and redirect his work as information, not art. The sandwiching of ideas or images suggests that by returning to motifs over and over, the work begins to feel familiar and asks the question, what is the metaphorical potential as opposed to its symbol?
