Regional Review on Status and Trends in Aquaculture Development in Sub-Saharan Africa - 2015
註釋This review and synthesis on aquaculture in sub-Saharan Africa presents major issues and trends for the period 2004-2014. Weather and climate-related shocks, insecurity, rapid growth of the working-age population, urbanization, access to land and water, competition for resources by multiple users, and their degradation as well as inadequate infrastructural capacity in many countries, have weighty implications for the development of aquaculture in the region. Notwithstanding, the possibilities for increased growth are good and aquaculture production is projected to be 1 million tonnes in 2025, an increase of 84 percent.
