註釋A biography of Eber-Cohen (1911-1985), a prominent member of the Zionist movement in Romania. Chs. 4-6 (p. 88-164) focus on the Holocaust period, when Eber-Cohen was involved in rescue and relief activities on behalf of the deportees in the concentration camps and ghettos of Transnistria, initiated by Jewish organizations in Romania. Between 1951-57 he was imprisoned by the Romanian authorities as part of their anti-Zionist actions. He emigrated to Israel in 1957.
