José de Souza Martins
註釋Jose de Souza Martins, a sociologist and photographer, scours the silence of what is left of an industrial era of splendor, the images of the residual trifles. In this picture book shows how much remains to say the soul of the ruins, talking about the temporality of what is properly social, time fades away gradually. The Chronicles accompanying photographs were born at the instant that the sociologist photographed: the Village of Paranapiacaba, disabling Factory Lines Peacock, Pottery or Sao Caetano, deactivated and demolished after almost 90 years of operation. The photographic project that is embodied in this book expresses the photographer in search of the aesthetic of the shadows, and the void that is finite, but also intend to open and examine sociologically silence, stressing the indexical nature and polysemic image and what it documents, the time that the company survived only as a trace, left and shadow, stroke of the human and social existence.
