Reflections
註釋This book is for all those involved in, or concerned with, the care and education of children. It aims to explore the principles underlying the programs for young children in the city of Reggio Emilia, Northern Italy, and to reflect on the issues these principles may raise for care and education in Australian schools and centres. The reflection includes a synthesis of discussions held across Australia and stories contributed by individual educators. These responses reflect a variety of settings and age groups. The principles considered are: a pedagogy of relationships enabled by a pedagogy of listening; the image of the child's potentials and rights; pedagogical documentation; communication and collaboration - both within and between groups of children, parents, and teachers; the importance of a continuing dialogue with the community; the physical environment as 'an educator' in its own right; the Hundred Languages of children; the child and teacher as researchers; and a curriculum that uses projects as a vehicle for children and teachers to construct knowledge and understanding through small-group collaborations.
