The emigrant ancestor of the Hawker family was George G. Hawker (1831- 1863), who was born in Moreton, Hampstead, Devonshire, England to William Hawker and Elizabeth Murch. He emigrated from England with his parents. He married Sarah Dunlop (1834-1915), daughter of Howard Dunlop and Clarissa Hutson, in 1853 in Will Co., Illinois. She was born in Deerfield Twsp., Portage Co., Ohio. He died in Shell Rock, Butler Co., Iowa. Elisha McClintock (1831-1898) was born in Addison Twsp., Pennsylva- nia to William Robert McClintock and Elizabeth Pinkerton. He married Mary Ellen Pettit (1830-1895), daughter of John B. Pettit and Altha Irish in 1855 in Rossville, Allamakee Co., Iowa. She was born in Crawford Co., Pa. Both died in Alden, Freeborn Co., Minnesota. Family members live in Minnesota, Iowa, Arizona, Illinois and else- where.
