註釋How do we make sense of poverty in Canada, of globalization, of violence between men and women, of the cultural imperialism of movies, of the barriers to Aboriginal economic development, of environmental degradation and the like? These are just some of the questions taken up in the new edition of Power and Resistance. The contributors to this book do not all use an identical analytical approach. Yet, each shares a conviction that the social, economic and political issues confronting Canadians are the result of the inequalities-of gender, racialization, class, sexual orientation and so on-that continue to plague us. At the same time, each author advocates and shows that Canadians, collectively and individually, resist these on-going inequalities in order to resolve our social troubles and create a more just society.
