For Parents & Teens
註釋TO PARENTS: You are buying this book with the best of intentions. You love your kid, even though he or she is a teenager, and you're looking for a way to get through these next few years as cleanly and mentally intact as possible. While we know that the teen years can be difficult for both the one going through it and the ones guiding them through it, your teen won't see it that way. He (or she) will see it squarely as your problem. He doesn't have one. If he does have a problem, it's you. We've just discovered the first obstacle to parenting a teenager.
TO TEENS: Your parent is buying this book with good intentions. They love you and want to get some new ideas about how to get through the next few years, your teenage years, without too much pain. The pain though, is their problem, not yours. Your problem is to get through these years without being bothered or held back too much by your parents, so you can get on with your life. After all, you're pretty mature for your age and know a whole lot more than they give you credit for. Again, they mean well, they love you and are doing the best they can, but they can still be a pain in the a** sometimes. You're not perfect and neither are they.
