Three-layer particleboard of density 700 kg/m3 was successfully manufactured from wood waste using an extender to replace partially the resin. However, as the percentage of the extender in the resin mix was increased, the boards showed a drop instrength properties and an increase in the thickness swellings. In order to satisfy the requirements of Standard Boards, stipulated in the British Standards, the three-layer particleboards should have minimum resin contents of 9.5 and 8.5 percent for the surface and core layers respectively.
