Doctoral Research in Educational Administration at the University of Alberta, 1958-1991
註釋The general purpose of this book is to develop an overview and synthesis of the doctoral theses completed in the Department of Educational Administration at the University of Alberta (Canada) from 1958 to 1991. Among the more specific objectives are: (1) To describe the general characteristics of the research methodologies used in the studies; (2) to search for trends in the uses of research and methodologies used in the studies; (3) to identify the major research areas and substantive themes in the studies; (4) to summarize the outcomes of the studies in relation to major research; and (5) to use the results of the review as the basis for commenting on possible future emphases in doctoral studies. Following an introduction, eight chapters address the following topics: characteristics of the research, administrators and administration, context of educational administration, organizational analysis, individual and organization, educational and organizational change, decision making, and policy development and implementation. A summary and discussion conclude the book. (Contains 320 references.) (RR)
