The Dream of the Red Chamber is one of the four major Chinese classics. This version is rewritten at the middle school level. The novel was originally written by Cao Xueqin (1715-1763) and completed by Gao E three decades after Cao's death. The masterpiece mirrored the extravagant lifestyle of Cao Family during the rise and fall of the Qing Dynasty.
