Henry (Heinrich) Jacob Stanz was born in 1829 at Kuttigen, Switzerland, the son of Jacob and Elisabeth Fischer Stanz. He immigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1867 and married Barbara Jenny at Milwaukee later that year. The had four children, 1868-1875. He died in 1890 at Milwaukee. Descendants lived in Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, and elsewhere.
