註釋Developments in the British labour market since 1979 have allowed employers greater freedom to determine the distribution of jobs and the terms and conditions attached to those jobs. Correspondingly, the influence of employees and their representative institutions has declined. As a result, inequality has increased among those in employment: more employees are in low-paid work; more are subject to unfair treatment; and fewer have an effective voice in dealing with their employer.
