註釋
Gilberto Chateaubriand (b. Paris, 1925) is an art collector, a businessman and a diplomat. He started his passion for art in the 1920's, and developed an art collection of Brazilian modernist and contemporary art that today holds more than 9,000 works. The collection is in loan to the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro since 1993 and has been shown regularly in other institutions of Brazil and abroad. The three volumes of the series "Gilberto Chateaubriand Collection" edited by Barlué, brings together a selection of the most important works of the largest private collection in Brazil. This second volume by curator Ligia Canongia features works of art created during three decades of Brazilian contemporary art (1960, 1970 and 1980) "looking to address the questions that were proposed by the artistic production of those times, with focus on Nova Figuraçao (New Figuration), on the repercussions of Pop Art, on the processes of resistance towards the formal idealization of Modernism and of Conceptual Art, and lastly, on the return to actual painting and of the eclecticism that enriched the discussion of Post-Modernity in Brazil."--P. 268. The edition includes full-page color reproduction of the works of 75 artists like Miguel Rio Branco, Ana Berlla Gerger, Luiz Pisarro, Cildo Meireles, Cristina Canale, Wesley Duke Lee, and Waltercio Caldas amongst others.
