註釋
You definitely will not find the contemporary paintings of artist Ronald Kodritsch (b. 1970, Austria) mentioned within historical conversations about modern aesthetics or color and form. His paintings are free-wheeling, loosely composed, and almost childlike in their sense of humor and composition. You can spot formal and thematic references in Kodritschs combinations of intuitive brush strokes and ironic/sarcastic/kitschy images, but he is very much his own artist in style and content. He also is not shy about using various mediums in making his artworks. This current monograph focuses on a new series of paintings and sculptures titled New Hairs for Eternity. In tongue-in-cheek style, Kodritsch incorporates familiar figures, such as ghosts and gnomes, or a large, sculptural gloppy head smoking a pipe. Refined execution is never his intent, but the works are always made with mastery of the mediums and a clear path to where he wishes to take the viewer. essays by curator and media arts historian Andreas Spiegl and contemporary curator Angela Stief.
