The Watcher
註釋

What is magic? A human heart once pondered. Is it a stolen moment in which time and space do not exist, allowing a user to travel or see through it? Is it an expedient ability to have any of heart's desires appear before one's eyes, or an enchanting hand, making things grow where none would? Does it exude an unshaken kindness, helping those in need? Or is it a devious power, a dark force strong enough to destroy everything that is dear? Perhaps. For the choices that are made while conquering magic will define it. For magic is complicated-a complex tangle of nature, circumstance, and desire.

In the early days, when civilizations had just begun to flourish, the world was at peace; until a gift from afar, from a much ancient time, came to unfold itself to the inhabitants of earth. Magic, as humans call it, was spread far and wide, giving rise to a new kind of life. However, while magic mostly enhanced the beauty of the world and while it became a convenient aid in the lives of many, it viciously burned and devoured the heart of one man. Darkness consumed his entire being, making him feel no remorse, nor guilt, nor loyalty-this man was called Gavril.

When Bliss was born, the last of her kind, Gavril unleashed an army of the undead to hunt her and ultimately own her magic. As chaos and destruction reigned throughout the lands, Bliss represents the only hope to recapture the peace and beauty of the ancient times when magic was plentiful and in harmony with the world. Keen discernment in the use of magic became crucial as she fights the dark forces side by side with the last of the Watchers.
