註釋The present book on probability theory and statistics is intended for readers with their main interest in the fields of experimental high energy and elementary particle physics with a need for statistical methods in their work. The text grew out of the author's systematic work in providing practical knowledge of statiscal analysis methods in experimental particle physiscs for graduate students and research workers.The firtst part of the book deals with probability theory, entered on an elementary level to make the student acquainted with the probability concepts before entering into the field of statistics, which is dealt with in the seco0nd part of the book. The book can also be studied chapter- or section-wise, and includes physics key words as well as statistical terms to facilitate the use of the book as a reference manual.
