It's the Summer of 1988, and life hasn't been easy for 15-year-old Justin Spencer. Still struggling with the loss of his father, who died in a tragic accident before he was born, and his mother, Beth, remarrying, William, an abusive alcoholic. Justin is hoping that his new town of Sherbrook Maine, will offer refuge from his past. That is, until he meets, Amelia, an old psychic, who claims that he possesses a gift, not of this world. Justin doesn't believe the old woman, and writes her off as crazy, but a chance encounter with a mysterious girl named, Natalie, might help to prove that the old woman is not as crazy as she appears to be. At first, Natalie seems like any other girl in town, that is, until Justin discovers a dark secret about Natalie, that will send him down a dangerous path of discovery, and one which he will have to walk alone, if he is to uncover the secrets that lie within the playground.
