註釋There is no doubt of the growing need for students who are approaching graduation to be capable of interacting successfully with written and oral material that they come across with in their fields of study. Schools are training their students to respond to new resources, as more information in English becomes accessible worldwide through professional journals, media, and the web. Consequently, the aim of the academia is to provide students with means that let them interrelate and respond critically to English textbooks and increase their communicative competence so that they can seek for better professional, opportunities not only in domestic, but also in international contexts. To develop each student's communicative competence through sol id foundations in each one of its components: linguistic, pragmatic, and socio-linguistic. To apply learning strategies that foster autonomy in the process of learning a foreign language. To apply strategies that facilitates access to current information available in English and related to the professional area chosen by the student. It is expected that students will be able to select, comprehend, analyse, and respond critically to information in English.
