The papers consist of 49 letters mostly to John Robertson's mother. A list of the letters with a brief description of the contents is included. The letters include descriptions of conditions at Mt Abundance and in other parts of Queensland during the period. Other papers include ship, horse and cattle returns for Mount Abundance for March 1875, rainfall, and temperature for Mount Abundance 1874, the family tree of John Robertson and his diary 1.1.1891 - 28.10.1895. An outline of John Robertson's association with the Queensland National Bank compiled by the Archivist of the National Australia Bank has been added to the papers.
