Prisoner of War
註釋"One of the most celebrated groups of American Prisoners of War during World War II were members of the Second Battalion, 131st Field Artilllery, 36th Division of the Texas National Guard. The fate of this group of Americans, along with other GI's who joined the POW roster, was not learned in the United States until some two years later. The full story of their brutal incarceration on the island of Java was not told until after the War when a shocked world learned of their experiences. The author was among the 345 member of the Battalion to suffer the privations and indignities of POWs." -- inside front flap of dust jacket.
