註釋
This book written is a very useful, well-organized, well-illustrated, and comprehensive collection of cases of brain pathologies. The case-based organization works very well for radiology students preparing for DMRD, MD, and DNB examinations. This book may also be of use to radiologists interested in studying the neuroimaging findings of a disease from a clinical perspective rather than just memorizing from textbooks. Every case is presented on a single page, with a short one-line clinical history and the relevant MRI and CT scan images. The reader has to make the diagnosis based on these details. On the reverse of this page the imaging findings and the differential diagnoses are discussed. There is a bibliography with references and a discussion focusing on the imaging features of the particular pathology. Under each case three learning points have been mentioned. This can be very useful for the busy reader preparing for an examination. In all, there are 150 cases, and the book is divided into three sections: (i) Basic, (ii) Intermediate, and (iii) Advanced. While the cases in the Basic section are quite simple and straightforward, the interpretation of the cases in the advanced section will need experience and some specialized knowledge in neuroradiology. The pattern of presentation followed by the authors, who are experienced radiology teachers, is similar to the case discussion technique followed during radiology training. Since there is an alphabetical index of brain pathologies at the end, this book can also serve as a quick reference for disease-specific neuroimaging findings.
