Perspectives on Nigeria's Fledgling Fourth Republic
註釋Nigerian economics and social science specialists present responses to pertinent and urgent issues confronting the present reformatory Obasanjo Government, and the future development of Nigeria's political economy. They argue for the implementation of a political programme in the light of Nigeria's resolute privatisation programme, which addresses urban and rural poverty, and intractable corruption - the major impediment to development - and the vested interests of wealthy groups including retired army generals. Two chapters are dedicated to a critical analysis of the problem of corruption and the contributory factors, which, it is argued, must be eradicated if real socio-economic progress is to be achieved.
