A Numerical Investigation of Fire in a Large Arbitrary Shape Compartment
註釋This paper describes the developments of an effective fire model using the Body-Fitted Coordinate (BFC) system and the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques. The model was developed with the intention of engineering usage for handling complex arbitrary geometry while considering computer economy and adequate level of physical reality to predict the fire and smoke spread in buildings. The developed methodology incorporated solutions to the turbulent flow, combustion and radiation in the physical domain Validations of the model have been made by comparing the computed quantifies with the case of a carefully conducted fire tests in the recently completed Adelaide Basketball Sports Centre. Good agreement was obtained between the computed results and the experimental measurements The model was also capable of predicting the complex turbulent flow due to the induced entrainment of high order velocities through one of the western fire escape doors of the stadium.
