Itinerarium de mirabilibus orientalium Tartarorum franz., mittelfranz
註釋Odoric de Pordenone was one of the rare medieval European voyagers to recount their travels throughout Asia. He narrates his colorful journey and observations, from strange Hindu rites, to the islands of Indonesia. A quarter-century after Marco Polo, he traversed China and witnessed festivals and official ceremonies in the imperial capital. Jean le Long's fourteenth-century translation presented these marvels to a larger cultivated public and introduced into French many terms from the Orient. Odoric's writings, revisited and transmitted by Jean le Long in 1351, offer an intense vision of the mysteries of Asia. French text.
