Music, Its Styles and Funtions in the Lun Bawang Ethnics Group of Lawas District, Limbang Division, Sarawak Malaysia
註釋This research will explore the musical styles of the Lun Bawang ethnic group in Lawas district, Limbang Divisions, Sarawak, Malaysia. Research areas encompass Lawas Damit, Long Semadoh and Ba Kelalan in Lawas District, Limbang Division, Sarawak. The research will elaboraate on the cultural context of the Lun Bawang music. Emphasis will be on the role of music as well as tracing and investigating the involvement of vocal and instrmental music in the traditional Lun Bawang society which had gradually diminished and change cover the decades. This is due to development and the arrival of Christian missionary. Topics covered will also include a commentary on performance practices, musical instruments, vocal and instrument music. Also highlighted are the music styles covering vocal production and singing style, construction of musical instruments, playing techniques, tonal vocalbularly and scale, melodic intervals, ange and motion, melodic motives and contour as well as rhythm nased on its unique aesthetics.
