When a person is in trouble, he wants to get rid of the trouble and get peace, but when it seems impossible, then he makes a promise or promise to his boss that he should get rid of this trouble, I will do this. Or he resolves himself that I will do this work.

For a religious person, this pledge is made to God, but for an atheist, this pledge is made to himself.
