Starfly
註釋In Starfly Phil Bowen continues to explore the macabre comedy, theatrical cameos, surreal twists and romantic slants that so characterised his previous collection of poems, Variety's Hammer. Starfly is more outward looking. In his succinct, rythmic, and at times interrogatory way, Bowen combines a heightened sense of lyric with a deft touch and sense of form, the poems constantly underpinned by an unwavering belief in poetry as the last stronghold where language lives.
