Production of Whole-tree Chips for Energy
註釋Presents findings of a review study in Denmark of silvicultural systems that may increase the production of wood for energy from conventional forestry. Assesses the effect of selected silvicultural factors, such as tree species, thinning program, and especially plant density and the use of nurse trees, on wood chip production from whole trees. Current practice and options used to optimize chip production are described for stands of Norway spruce, with and without nurse trees (larch); and for planted beech, with nurse trees or using natural regeneration.
