Obedience in a Nutshell
註釋The carnal mind hates God and man's flesh is not subject to the law of God. It refuses to accept the rules and behavior norms without challenging authority and position because it seeks to rule. It is the call to obedience that brings out hostility in them. That hostility is the natural manifestation of the resistance to what is best for the spirit man. People push hard against obedience because they want to be in control and do things their own way. Yet, their own way often lands them in a pickle. It is almost like watching an animal rev up to wildly charge at a brick wall or fence designed for his protection and to keep safe the world at large. He charges and attacks the protective structure, only to damage himself. Everyone on the outside looking in can see his foolishness for he can only succeed at hurting himself and those who care about his condition. They say you don't know what you don't know until you know. That is the truth of spiritual obedience in a nutshell. Obedience isn't just about one person, it is about all of us. God's ways are higher than ours and the world does not have the same perspective on life. However, once we hit the fence or the brick wall enough times or hard enough, we come face to face with the truth. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
