註釋
This collection of field books documents Michael Nee's botanical collecting from 1977-1984. It consists of 28 small notebooks (17 cm height) that are part of a larger series of 88 notebooks (continued in Field notes Vols. 653 and 655). The notebooks in this box are numbered 31-58. During this time period Nee was living in Wisconsin, where he received his Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1979, and then in Chicago where he worked at the Field Museum of Natural History. In 1984 he began working at the New York Botanical Garden, and the Bolivia specimens covered in notebook 58 were collected on an NYBG expedition. Many collections listed in these notebooks are from Wisconsin and Illinois, as well as other midwestern and southern states including Missouri, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Nee also collected in Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Panama, and Bolivia. Specimen number range in these notebooks is 14578-30410. Most entries have collection date and location, and description of plant and habitat. Nee's collection notebooks/accession logs that cover the same specimens are found in Field notes Vols. 656-680 and 724.
