This book contributes to a multidisciplinary review of 200 years of cultural and social history of the Andean countries as Peru prepares to celebrate the bicentenary of its independence. The sources consulted by the authors of this collective volume are little known, even unpublished: they are correspondences, memories, chronicles, atlases, travel stories published in French or Spanish from the colonial period to the early 20th century.
