Ball Families of Virginia's Northern Neck
註釋The Mary Ball Washington Museum & Library, Inc., is pleased to present this outline of the Ball families of the Northern Neck of Virginia. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first major study of this important family since 1890, when Horace E. Hayden made the Balls the subject of an entire chapter in his monumental book, Virginia Genealogies. The source of Burgesses, county court officers, military personnel, federal officials, physicians and other honored occupations, the Ball family has been prominent in Virginia since the middle of the Seventeenth Century. Almost since the formation of Lancaster and Northumberland counties, the Balls have been outstanding community leaders of the Northern Neck and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
