Murder Amongst the Mounds
註釋Murder amongst the mounds: A Ron Webb mystery by Pete Jennings
A young woman re-enactor has been murdered amongst the burial mounds at Sutton Hoo, the iconic Anglo-Saxon royal cemetery. DCI Ron Webb and his Suffolk-based team must discover the motive before they can unmask the killer. Her ex-boyfriend seems unpopular, but at least one other member of her re-enactment group was also interested in her. Could the motive be lust or the jealousy of another woman?
Some of that group harbour their own secrets, and more than one thinks that they know the identity of the murderer. The woman was also involved in the occult, so was this some form of ritualistic killing? Possible clues are pointing towards that explanation. The usually orthodox detective resorts to an unusual strategy to solve the case.
Part of the Ron Webb Mystery series (Number 5), but it can be read independently of the other books.
