MARS provides a common platform for research scientists and technologist to respond to current and future issues of Malaysian society in the realm of science and technology by interacting with each other; pooling ideas; discussing issues facing the scientific and technological community; and presenting possible solutions for addressing those issues. The current main issue is that of Malaysia becoming a developed nation by the year 2020 and if the country is prepared for the changes it will bring to its lifestyle and economy.
