The Four Gospels Simplified Into One
註釋The New Testament's first four books, known as the Gospels--Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John--reveal most of what's known about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. They do not reveal a day-by-day story of Jesus's life; rather, they tell who Jesus was, what He said, what He did, and why it was important. Here's what makes this book user-friendly:? Single narrative----it blends or weaves the four Gospels into a single continuous narrative or story. None of the four Gospels is complete standing alone. ? Today's modern English----outdated words have been modified for easier reading.? Uncomplicated and straightforward----rewording and shortening the narrative makes for easier reading and better understanding. ? Chronological orde----sequentially covers the mortal life and early post-mortal experiences of the Savior. There is no unanimous agreement about the correct order of events. Even the authors themselves did not always agree on the sequence of events. ? Reader helps----includes tables and bullet-pointed lists.? Unique format splits Jesus's life and teachings into small pieces or chunks----this enhances reading, understanding, and remembering. Each chunk in addition to its narrative has its own: short title, cross-references to the actual Gospel chapters and verses for further study, and a border each chunk or event. ? Appendix----provides a table to compare and study the differences between the four Gospels. It also gives listings of Jesus's parables and miracles.
