Ross Martin Heyl Collection
註釋The Ross Martin Heyl papers contain his diary, which documents his military service in the United States (U.S.) Army during World War I from 14 May 1917 to 7 May 1919. It is illustrated with drawings and news clippings. The papers also contain his discharge certificates, a course certificate, a photograph of Heyl with other soldiers, news clippings and a photocopy of the Red keystone newspaper, official correspondence, and veteran's cards. An ink drawing from circa 1918-1919 illustrates the difference between American Expeditionary Forces (A.E.F.) soldiers who served on the front lines and those who served in the rear. Four articles, entitled Remember buddy, written by Heyl are included and cover the topics of a submarine attack, Calais, 24 hours in Paris, and a night in a French billet.
