Vincent P. Carosso Papers
註釋Extensive working papers of Vincent P. Carosso used in the preparation of his books Investment Banking in America: A History (Harvard University Press, 1970), The Morgans: Private International Bankers, 1854-1913 (Harvard University Press, 1987), and a sequel, left unfinished at his death, tentatively entitled The Morgan Partnerships: Private International Bankers, 1913-1940 (seven chapters completed through the year 1919; typescript available on microfilm). Included are photocopies of primary sources, including documents from Morgan Grenfell, London (including hundreds of pages of firm cables); the Lamont Papers, Baker Library, Harvard University; the National Archives; the Hoover and Roosevelt presidential libraries; and the Ministry of Finance, Paris. Also included are extensive photocopies from secondary sources, annotated by Carosso, including articles, book chapters, book reviews, dissertations, and newspaper clippings. There are brief biographical files on partners in the Morgan firms and occasional notes on interviews conducted by Carosso in the course of his research. The main topics covered are securities, investment banking, and the Morgan firms. Included is a small amount of Carosso's correspondence related to his research. No personal papers are included.
