註釋Ethel Mary Cheney (1878-1937) was born as Mary Eliza Lee at St. Louis, Missiouri, the daughter of Charles Tennant Lee (1849-1907) and Mary Katherine Molette Lee (1852-1878). Her mother died of scarlet fever six days after her birth. She was adopted by a friend of the Lee family, Mrs. Emeline Lewis Cheney (1841-1915), widow of Arthur Cheney (1837-1878), of Boston, Massachusetts. She married Samuel Thorne (b. 1874) at Boston in 1903. They had seven children, 1904-1919. She died at Harrison, New York.
