註釋The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic presented new challenges for U.S. military courts, which responded by expanding use of courtroom technology for remote proceedings and enforcing public health guidance in courtrooms during in-person proceedings. The dynamic nature of the pandemic forced both military and civilian courts to innovate quickly to keep the justice system moving. This Perspective provides a preliminary examination of how the pandemic affected caseloads in the military justice system and how the system adapted its operations. It also offers recommendations for future actions that could be taken.
