Women's Rights and Modernization
註釋Ever since the renaissance in Europe as well as in India, there has been greater realisation on the part of social scientists and social reformers to accord proper status and granting of empowerment to women. In the nineteenth century there has been greater emphasis on the political, economic and social modernisation of women. Social movements in Europe and America have influenced social movements in India and Asia for the liberation of women and social development. Indian freedom movement has equally focussed on the participation of women in the freedom struggle, recognising the need of women s modernisation for social development.
