註釋William Printup (fl.1695-1733), possibly of French, Dutch or English origin, moved up along the Hudson River from New York City to live among the Mohawk Indians while practicing the blacksmith trade. In 1722 he settled in Fort Hunter, New York. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, North Dakota, Oregon, California, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and elsewhere.
